no more water this time. The above image looks like the famous game pong and yes indeed I was happy to see this game again…. but this post is not (only) about pong.

The recent discussions about Mozarts Idomeneo, which was about to be re-staged at the Deutsche Oper in Charlottenburg displayed what can happen if one puts music into a changed visual/narrative context.

So here comes another little – and definitely more funny example (at least for some people…) of what can happen if one puts music into a changed visual/narrative context. Watch this reinterpretation (by game music composer Jack Wall of videogameslive) of Wagners “Ritt der Walküre” which comes a little after the pong game in this youtube video. (Original soundtrack here). His interpretation of valkyries gains much laughter in the video, however I can imagine that this performance may be a terrible sakrilege for some Wagnerites…..:-)
