Die t\u00f6dliche Doris was a 7 year long art project in the end 80ties. It consisted of a group of (usually 3) people( Wolfgang M\u00fcller<\/a>, Nikolaus Uterm\u00f6hlen und Chris Dreier\/Dagmar Dimitroff\/Tabea Blumenschein and then K\u00e4the Kruse ) who did Multimedia art performances. Their work was concerned with the question of identity – especially in pop groups. They created their typical style the “ingenious dilletantism” and performed on Punk\/NDW\/Industrial festivals such as “Berlin Atonal”. \nThe works of the T\u00f6dliche Doris could be downloaded as MP3 from their homepage<\/a>. However there is currently a big problem with german music downloads due to a new policy of the GEMA<\/a> – the german society for musical performing and mechanical reproduction rights. <\/p>\n (The GEMA is usually collecting royalities from radio stations etc. and gives it back to musicians. So if you want to make money from your music you basically have to be a member of the GEMA. However GEMAs new policy states that you -as a musician- are not allowed to put your own music onto your own website for download without paying royalities to the GEMA.
