{"id":2138,"date":"2009-04-07T23:38:26","date_gmt":"2009-04-07T21:38:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.randform.org\/blog\/?p=2138"},"modified":"2009-04-07T23:55:43","modified_gmt":"2009-04-07T21:55:43","slug":"broomm-economy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.randform.org\/blog\/?p=2138","title":{"rendered":"broomm economy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more--><br \/>\n<\/br><\/p>\n<p><img src='http:\/\/www.randform.org\/blog\/wp-content\/2009\/04\/broom450.JPG' alt='broom450.JPG' \/><\/p>\n<p>As it seems the german government is currently thinking about spending altogether <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tagesschau.de\/wirtschaft\/abwrackpraemie184.html\">5 billion euros on their cash-for-clunkers program<\/a> (the german literal translation of Abwrackpraemie is: wreck-off-bonus) within their program to further economy. Not only is this economically as well as socially (as a quick comparision: they spend 1.5 billion Euros on a children program) a very questionable descision, but it is in particular ecologically bad.<\/p>\n<p>Usually it is ecologically better to keep driving also an unecological car <a href=\"http:\/\/www.randform.org\/blog\/?p=890\">rather than to wreck it too early<\/a>. This is because the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bundesregierung.de\/Content\/EN\/Artikel\/2008\/07\/2008-07-01-hightech-serie-produktionstechnologien-effizient__en.html\">energy costs for car production<\/a> usually exceed in this case the energy saved by using a more fuel efficient car.
